Hello, my name is Jon Ardern, I am a London based artist and designer.

Currently I am Design Partner at Superflux, a primarily London based studio, with a presence in Ahmedabad, India. At Superflux, we collaborate with a wide range of clients to research and design new interactions at the intersection of people and technology. Find out more at superflux.in

Before Superflux I ran a small web design company, Bit farm, with two talented friends,
Joe Malia & Jeff Easter.

I am also working on an on going self-initiated critical design project, Ark Inc, that explores the concept of sustainability. To date Ark Inc has been shown at the MoMA NY, V&A London and presented as a paper at the Changing the Change conference, Torino.

I completed an MA in Interaction Design at the Royal College of Art in 2006, and then worked as a designer, developer and creative lead on various design projects while developing my own projects further. I have also worked with a series of exciting startups, including a recently launched citizen journalism site Demotix.

My main area of interest, which has developed over the past few years, is designing and developing work that questions current paradigms, and explores both aspirational and problematic alternatives.

I am a firm believer in the possibility of a ‘sustainable’ future, but think that a fundamental rethinking of many of the values and aspirations that underpin our current way of life is a prerequisite to such a future.

I am always keen to collaborate with people in building tools to help enable
new ways of thinking & doing.
