One Bird Lavender Bags

A useful and attractive gift ,for a friend or for yourself, are these beautiful lavender bags filled with french lavender of the highest quality. Each one has a machine embroidered bird  machine embroidered  by myself onto lightweight cotton with a hand dyed cotton organdie loop hanging . The original drawings are from my Orkney sketch book of the wide variety of birds that visit my sisters bird table there.

Lavender is incredibly versatile it can be used as a moth repellent or you can  hang the bags on your clothes hangers or place between clothes in a closet  to counteract musty smells or to scent your lingerie drawer.

You can also place one under your pillow to promote a peaceful nights sleep  or put one in your clothes dryer for fresh smelling clothes apparently up to 25 loads can be treated this way .

An exciting new addition to my products are the unique "One Bird" tea towels . Each one is different  with machine embroidered flowers alongside a digital print bird from my drawings in the gardens of Cornwall (particularly Trebah Garden where the birds are so tame they will visit you at your cafe table hoping for crumbs from a delicious scone or sandwich )! At £12.50 for a 100 % cotton and measuring 42/70 cms  these would make a wonderful present for a birthdays or a unique wedding present or just a treat for yourself . They are machine washable and definitelt to be used not just admired !!

Flora and fauna: the Cornwall collection

Rowena uses the latest technologies alongside traditional hand techniques to apply designs to a variety of products for the withdrawing room using both sustainable and up cycled materials. The  inspiration for this collection came from  drawings and photographs made whilst exploring the gardens, coastal footpaths and woodlands of rural Cornwall.

Products include cushions , ceramics and an oak screen.

“Woodland ” Screen

Three panel oak veneer screen with solid oak frame.

Designed and made in Cornwall by Rowena Ardern and Aaron Moore.

Designed to create a space for meditation and contemplation this new screen would be equally at home in a living space or in a bedroom as a dressing screen.
Inspired by the ancient woodlands of Cornwall, “Woodland” is a collaboration between artist/ designer Rowena Ardern and furniture maker Aaron Moore.
The two met on the prestigious MA Design  at University College Falmouth with a common interest in the environment and sustainable materials.
Rowena’ s delicate design is cut on Aarons self built CNC router at his workshop in deepest rural Cornwall, the home of Reform Furniture .It is lovingly framed in solid oak  and then coated with a natural oil to bring out the beauty of the wood.
This  exciting launch  product is  firmly planted in the 21st century with a touch of yearning for the past.

"Spring" Tea set

Tea set, circa 1940s, with Hydrangea and Bird designs added  to reinvent classic ceramics into contemporary collectables. Coordinating fabrics available.


This was a real find at an auction in Redruth ,Cornwall , one of those meant to be’s. It is a Japanese import and each cup has geisha lithophane  forming the base . When you hold the cup up to the light a geishas head appears , so beautiful and another manifestation of hidden beauty. It is a six setting tea set with cups , saucers , plates , a tea pot ,lidded sugar basin and milk jug
